The final England game of Group C took place on the 23rd June between these two sides at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.
The two sides have only met once before in a friendly match that was held on September 5th 2009 at Wembley Stadium. The match ended in a 2-1 win for England with goals from John Terry and Jermain Defoe.
England managed a first half goal from Jermain Defoe who again was a thorn in the side of Slovian, and they kept Slovenia at bay for the rest of the game, they squandered a few chances but the game was a vast improvement over the game against Algeria.
