Free State Stadium
The Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein is also known as Vodacom Park, it is mainly used for Rugby and it's Rugby tenants are Free State Cheetahs and the Central Cheetahs it also has a resident football team; Bloemfontein Celtic.
To prepare this Stadium for the World Cup it was recently renovated to give it a second tier which took the capacity from 36,538 to 48,000, the cost of this was 245 million Rand (£19 million). The venue was used as a host venue for the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup and it is due to be used as a host to several 1st and 2nd round matches.
If all goes to plan England should not play at this stadium unless they are the runners up of Group C. If that is the case they will be playing the Winners of Group D which is likely to be Germany, a path that is wise to be avoided if possible.
