2010 World Cup Songs

In a move that caused uproar and surprise throughout the football terraces of England the English FA have chosen not to release an official song for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

With no official song there have been an rush of songs being released hoping to pick up on the hopes of a nation, we look at some of the best out there.

The Squad - 3 Lions 2010

The Daddy of all football songs gets another version, this time as well as Frank Skinner and David Baddiel it also features Robbie Williams, Russell Brand and a choir.

Verdict

The lyrics produce a lump in every Englishmans throat, classic 5/5.

Dizzee Rascal and James Corden - Shout

Not content with being involved with being assistant England manager on Soccer Aid, James Corden has teamed up with UK rapper Dizzee Rascal on this Tears for Fears reworking.

Verdict

Not bad, the original is still the best but the raps from Mr Rascal are quite good.3/5.

Rik Mayall - Noble Englishmen

The UK comedian Rik Mayall has released his song which takes excerpts of William Shakespeare's "Henry V".

Verdict

4/5 - A noble effort that could get fans chanting on the terraces and in the pubs.

Bring It Back to Blighty - The Clear Champions

Another song that is digging deep on English patriotism, it even has a brass brand.

3/5 - Sounds a bit like Vindaloo a times, but could catch on.

Chico - Its England Time

Yes, its him from the X-Factor, the reality television "star" that just refuses to go away, with a play on his hit "Its Chico Time".

4/5 - Its annoying its Chico but you will be singing it without knowing you are doing it.
